Help me choose buttons!
Kingscot needs closure(s). But should they be the iridescent glass ones at the top, or the green flower ones at the bottom? I like how the first ones echo the shape of the bobbles, and perhaps their more neutral colour would be more versatile. Then again, I love the contrast of the green... I need your help! Sometimes I think that choosing the buttons is the trickiest part of making a cardigan.

I love green buttons, too!
ReplyDeleteAnd the shape is very cute.
They are lovely flowers.
And,,,,, How are you? Giulia!
Do you remember me? I'm,,, from ravely.
I would go for the glass, the green are cute too though
ReplyDeleteI will cast my lot in favour of the glass buttons at the top. I think they enhance the beauty of Kingscot without capturing one's attention, as I think the green ones tend to do by their colour.
ReplyDeleteI think you should find ones that match the shade of the wool - it's busy enough already, better to choose something that doesn't attract any attention. The green ones are very nice, but a bit too fussy for this garment, I would say.
ReplyDeleteI'd go with the glass buttons. I like the green, but I think they would compete too much with the pattern, while the glass buttons would dimple merrily in the light and otherwise allow the awesomeness of Kingscot to take centre stage.
ReplyDeleteI think green ones would look really nicely.
ReplyDeleteI'm a vote for the glass too - unless the colour of the yarn is a long way off in the photo, the green look to distract from the glory of the knitting, whereas the glass seem to echo the bobbles without distracting...
ReplyDeleteGreen! Green! Green!
ReplyDeleteI've been a fan of your blog/projects for a while, but too shy to comment until now, but my love for those green buttons trumped my shyness! :)
Casting my vote for glass, can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteI'd go for the glass! Or even a colour that matches the yarn more (i.e. not the green). As someone said earlier, there's a lot going on with the texture/pattern so the buttons should blend in rather than compete with that.
